We are pleased to advise the planned winter works on Horsenden Lane cure have now been completed. 187 meters of new formation has been installed including ballast, concrete sleepers and replacement rail. The work was carried our by contractors this being the only way that such a significant project could be completed within the winter closed season.
Our own volunteers have been kept very busy over two working weeks and at weekends during the closed season spot re-sleepering at various places on the railway. The working weeks were very well supported by the membership despite some appalling weather. A big thank you to everyone who so freely gave their time to carry out these essential tasks.
